Nashville Predators Sign Broadcast Deal with Scripps Sports

The Nashville Predators have signed a multiyear broadcast deal with Scripps Sports, starting with the 2026-27 season.

What happened?

The deal includes over-the-air broadcasts in Nashville and a direct-to-consumer streaming service.

The Predators' games will broadcast on WNPX, re-branded as The Spot, including preseason games and the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Each game will feature a 30-minute pre- and postgame show.

Why it matters for Nashville Predators

This deal adds the Predators to Scripps Sports' growing list of NHL properties, including the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights.

The current FanDuel Sports Network broadcast team, including Willy Daunic and Chris Mason, are expected to move to the new broadcast.

What comes next?

Scripps Sports will begin negotiating carriage agreements with cable and satellite companies, such as DirectTV and Xfinity.

The direct-to-consumer streaming service will be a paid service available in the Predators' regional viewing area, including Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky.

The Predators' previous deal with Main Street Media, which owns FanDuel Sports Network, ended due to financial uncertainty.

Scripps Sports owns WTVF NewsChannel5, which will simulcast some games alongside The Spot-Channel 28.

The new broadcast deal will provide fans with more access to Nashville Predators games and content.

Alex Daugherty, the Predators beat writer for The Tennessean, reported on the deal and its implications for the team.

The Nashville Predators are looking forward to the new broadcast deal and the opportunities it will bring for their fans.
