Nashville Predators Introduce Youth Hockey Scholarships with David Poile

The Nashville Predators are taking a significant step towards growing the sport of hockey in their community, thanks to the efforts of former General Manager David Poile and his wife Elizabeth. David Poile, a Hockey Hall of Famer, has accomplished numerous goals during his tenure with the Predators, and now he's working towards making another one of his long-held goals a reality. The Poiles have established the Poile Family Youth Hockey Scholarship, which will provide financial assistance to deserving young players in need, with the backing of the Predators Foundation. David Poile's goal is to see a born and raised Nashville hockey player play in the NHL, and hopefully for the Predators. With the growth of minor hockey and kids playing college hockey in the area, Poile believes it's not a matter of if, but when this goal will be accomplished. The scholarships will award at least $10,000 in each of the next several years, with two application windows every year, one in the fall and one in the spring. David Poile's commitment to the sport and the community is evident in his desire to give back to the game he loves. As a former GM, Poile spent 41 consecutive seasons at the helm of an NHL club, a record that will likely never be broken. Now, he's shifted his focus to supporting the next generation of hockey players. The Poile Family Youth Hockey Scholarship is a significant step towards making hockey more accessible to everyone in the Nashville community. By providing financial assistance to young players, the Poiles hope to create opportunities for kids to learn and play the sport, regardless of their economic background. This initiative is a testament to the Nashville Predators' commitment to growing the sport of hockey in their community and supporting the development of young players. The Predators Foundation's support for the scholarship program demonstrates the team's dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of young people in Nashville. As the Nashville Predators continue to work towards building a stronger hockey community, the Poile Family Youth Hockey Scholarship is an exciting development that will help to create a brighter future for the sport in the city.
